Blast your target in 3 different ways, whether it be with elite darts, mega whistler darts or a missile.  No batteries are required for the Tri-Strike Blaster which slightly reduces the weight, but because of this it does lack a bit of power compared to models with a built-in motor.

Customise how you want to use the Tri-Strike Blaster, the mega barrel extension and missile launcher attachments can be removed.  This will leave you with just a lightweight quick elite dart blaster.  Although versatile, it’s not the most powerful nerf gun.

Different Types Of Ammunition

When searching for the best nerf gun, it’s important to understand about the different types of ammunition used for each type of gun.  Firstly, when buying a nerf gun, you’re usually only supplied with enough ammo for the maximum capacity your gun can hold.  Therefore, unless you buy more ammo, every time you’ve exhausted your clip or barrel, you’ll have to pick up all your ammo before firing again.

Nerf guns will only be able to accept one type of ammo, unless it’s a model that has multiple clips or barrels designed to accept different types of ammo.  For example, elite darts can only be used for Nerf Elite Hyper Fire Blaster and mega darts can only be used for the Nerf Mega Mastodon Blaster.

Since there are quite a few different types of nerf ammunition, we’ll only be going over the main ones:

Elite – The most popular dart, it is made from soft plastic, soft sponge plastic material and a soft round head.  This dart is designed for further and accurate shooting compared to streamline darts, thanks to their shorter tip plug.

Mega – Bigger, tougher and stronger than the elite darts, these mega darts literally whistles through the air to find the target.  Despite being apparently rangier than the elite, it lacks to compete on accuracy.

Missile – The large missile is fired from a single shot, however from our list of the top 10 best nerf guns, only the Tri-Strike Blaster is capable of firing missiles.
